75 mustang bridge Q

Howdy I just came into a mid 70s fender mustang. This is my first time trying to set up a mustang. My question is about the wrap around cigar tailpiece. It is tilted back, and I’m wondering if this is the way it is supposed to be angled or if my set up is off. I’m using 9s which I know is light for this guitar. Any advice appreciated.
