I have a thinline Tele right now that I setup with Broadcaster wiring and I absolutely love the sounds you can get out of it. For those not familiar, what is typically the tone knob is instead a blend knob. With the switch in the first position, the bridge pickup is active, and the blend knob brings the neck pickup into the mix (in parallel). The second position is the neck pickup by itself. The third position is the neck pickup by itself with a dark cap wired in.
Then we have the Tele four-way wiring, where the fourth position puts the bridge and neck pickups into series. For all you wiring wizards out there, is it possible to mash these two together with either of the following? Assume no true tone knob--I find I never use them on Telecasters. Just volume and blend pot.
Option 1:
Standard three-way blade switch
POS1 - Bridge pickup with neck blend in parallel
POS2 - Neck pickup by itself
POS3 - Bridge and neck together in series
(POS2 and POS3 could be flipped if that makes the wiring easier)
Option 2:
Four-way blade switch
POS1 - Bridge pickup with neck blend in parallel
POS2 - Neck pickup by itself
POS3 - Neck pickup with dark cap
POS4 - Bridge and neck in series
(POS2-POS4 can be rearranged as needed for wiring purposes)
Edit: additionally, I'm not married to the functions all being on a single switch. If there is a way to do that incorporates a push/pull pot, that's fine as well. My main goal is just to incorporate the bridge/neck parallel blend and bridge/neck series in one circuit, along with the neck by itself.
Thanks for any guidance you can provide!
