This is what a freezer & a can of anti-freeze does to nitro. The guy who re-finned my JM did this. He later confessed that the anti-freeze method was still a bit experimental!! 



All around the edges the checking is in straight lines, kind vintage correct. The spots that got the anti-freeze treatment have a spider legs effect. If he hadn't used the spray I reckon it'd have turned out perfectly.

I've asked him to re-relic it without the crazy spider-legs but he's kinda gone off the radar.

I actually like the results but its not very authentic looking. If you look closely you can see a Joy Division album cover in there!!!

That's the one.

Its like that front & back but more noticable on the back as the front's covered by the pickguard & tailpiece.

It is a bit OTT though, I agree.

I'll get it sorted eventually but it's on my "to do" list at about #110.

Not been in the freezer, but sat in a wet basement for years. Finish cracked badly. I should take a pic of the back, but you get the idea....
