I accendently aplied some neutral oil on a guitar body where I was gonna go for an oil finish (swapped the bottle and I aplied french polish oil)....Thing is it is of the non drying kind. How can I remove it? It kind of made some stains, although not very visible. I aplied it on raw wood (Paduak open grain, pretty simelar to maghony)
I know some stains can be ironed out using a damp cotton cloth but I would like to know how I can remove the oil, since I wanne refin this body with tung oil/teak oil.
So SHould naphta work? (this would be lighter fluid in my case as Naphta is not sold on this side of the pond)

Any kind of laquer-thinner could do it I guess, but if the wood have absorbed the oil deeper - I don't know if you get rid of the stains...
But then again - You are about to finish it in another kind of oil, so the stains may dissapear (oil solves oil too).

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Well, since it's paduak and has darkened quiet a bit, I'm gonna do a bit of sanding first before aplying the Tung or Teak oil.
The stains aren't that noticable, guess it's a bit of dirt that got into the wood as it was never propperly finished.
Just gonna redo the surface with some #400 gritt to get that lovelly Paduak orange back and then apply the Oil finish.
Since the weather is finally improving and the house choirs are finally done it's time do to this and some other projects.....
