Best Wood Filler

Post by bulrich » Sun Apr 06, 2008 5:19 pm

Now that the weather is finally warming up, I'm getting some work done on this long standing restoration of a 62 Bass VI.
The neck is off to Mike Forrester to repair/restore the headstock. But I'm prepping the body filling to send it off primer-ed and ready for color.
Prob. is the body can mucho dents/dinged btwn. the bad strip of the original Oly White (sometime in it's 46 years) and the poly removal.
What wood fillers are easy to use for small dents, dings, scrapes?

I used Minwax filler from the small yellow tube on my '64 Jag.

It worked great!
Q. Are we not men?

I've used Bondo putty. It's cheap, and it sands easily. I got a 1 pound can for $7.
