I'm working on a bass headstock design.
I have also designed a guitar version of this.
I guess it's a toned down Starcaster shape, without the swoosh!

Also looks like an Ibanez Roadstar to me, obe of my favourite headstocks. :?

Reminds me of a firebird or thunderbird. I dig it. :)

Thanks guys!

Yeah, you're spot-on with the Ibanez Roadstar comparison.
I am a bit obsessed with them. I have been restoring a Roadstar II recently, I guess the design has worn off on me.

HNB, totally Thunder/Firebird. I could even rout a bevel each side of the headstock.

Thanks heaps!
I would almost have had them finished by now if I hadn't have snapped my bandsaw blade.

No matter what it is based on, i feel like this headstock is wonderful, cuz it is just a strong forward design.
Id prefer v2, but thats subjective.. Eventho v1 a minor smaller as "real pearloid inlay" should be killer, too!

I like the logo placement better on the right headstock personally. ;D

I think the right one but with the C in Cross a bit bigger and filling in the swooshy tip would look really sweet.

That headstock, and red, is amazing!!! Wouldn't happen to be a headstock for a short-scale bass would it? ;)

No, it's for a full scale, Jazz bass style neck.
But I'd be keen to build a shortscale using this design too.

I'd love to see that headstock with your Jagstang Done Right as a short-scale bass would be amazingly cool.

2nd body has been cut out and routed!

I have annoyed my housemates and neighbour's enough for today,
So, I'll do the roundovers and contours tomorrow.
