Yeah it makes sense but the you would need two dedicated tone pots for neck and bridge. Unless you wire your rhythm circuit with two 1 meg pot and use it as a pickup switch. Otherwise you’ll end up with a much darker neck.. don’t you think?
If you wanted just to shave the tone back for the bridge. I like it at full so it works as is for me. :D It has a sound similar (to my ears) to The House of the Rising Sun. That sound is kinda what I look for in a bridge pickup. :D

I like that tone too, but with my jb it doesn’t happen! Curious to hear how it sounds in a JM! Let us know with sound clips!

What pots are you using? I use 1meg. Changing pots can open up a pickup sound or tame it back depending on what you are going for.

The Squier one from China? If so, I thought about that, but I don't know about it. Stuff from China can be iffy.
Yes, and I agree with ya. However these sellers seem to be getting good feedback on this stuff. The finish looks great.

I have 500k pots for both volume and tone, not sure I’d like more top end, I simply dislike the midrange honk they have. I came to the conclusion that I’m more of a low output pickup guy, and I spent most of my time on the neck one.

That makes sense. They do have strong mid's which is something I like. If you are into lower output pickups like PAF's that a JB would be too much. In a bridge, I actually like super hot. Even ceramic. Neck pickups I do prefer lower outputs because they sound more like single coil tone wise. :)

I can’t wait for it come in so I can get it put together. :) MJT did a nice job with the finish. I didn’t want it beat to hell, but I also didn’t want it closet clean either. :)

Whoah whoah whoah, that is incredible. It's neither the fabled purpleburst, nor the straight competition burgundy, but rather some sort of entirely new competition burgundy burst, and it's flipping AMAZING.

I remember there was that one Rowyko did, I think with one of those competition black with red stripe MIM things and it looked pretty good. LPB and Sherwood, really any metallic blue or green, are my favorite finishes, and maybe my favorite ever is the Competition Burgundy, but I have similar issues with the way a Mustang feels and sounds and looks on me. So, while I’ve always wanted one, the quick and steep rise in prices and that fact have kept me from making a move. I’d love to do or of these but putting stripes on a guitar that never had them in real life feels weird so I haven’t done this either.

Can’t wait to see how it ends up! I agree with the matching headstock thing, as that white decal just looks incredible with the blue and purple, just the coolest, but this whole thing is a custom deal so it isn’t like you should feel bound by any of that obviously and should do what you’ll like the most.

You ever do builds for anyone else? Love yr stuff and wanna do it too but have never really taken an attempt at it.

This looks really cool and unique. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one of the Mustangs with the dark outer color. I always loved the trans red/purple thing, however they do it. This looks awesome though, really excited to see it.
