Re: Competition Burgundy Jazzmaster
The bridge is a custom shop Seymour Duncan high output humbucker in Jazzmaster cover. The neck is an antiquity II neck pickup.

Re: Competition Burgundy Jazzmaster
It is done and it is good.... I like the SH setup. Antiquity II's still remain to be my favorite pickup. I love how the neck pickup sounds a lot like a strat's middle pickup sound. With the bassy jazz circuit, it doesn't get too muddy. This custom shop bridge humbucker is pretty awesome also. I feel like this is one of the nicest looking guitars I have put together also. Here are pictures.

I can't argue with that. It looks fantastic!
Funny how my 2 favourite build of yours are blue/green JazzStangs with black Jazzmaster pickup covers.
EDIT - Found the other one...

Just perfect! You know how to notice and execute all the little touches, they make such a difference!
Like on my Customaster, because I was going for a '70s maple board look, I had USACG spray an extra layer or two of vintage tint on the headstock because the vintage ones were cleared over the decal, and this means they darken up more over time. That was the one thing that really makes that guitar look legit! And there's tons of that kind of detail here. Bravo

Re: Competition Burgundy Jazzmaster Finished Pg. 5!
Thanks so much! I tried to do as many nods to a competition Mustang that I could. I used a larger headstock to look more like a Mustangs. I was lucky enough to have owned several competition Mustangs over the years. I love how they look, but I don't get along with the tremolo tube very well. Also as a large guy, I feel like I am playing a ukulele when I play Mustangs.
I remember that ADH project I did. That was a lot of fun. Probably the nicest I have been able to spray paint and wetsand of all the times I have done my own finish.
I appreciate all the positive comments. I worked hard on this one and I am super happy with how it looks and sounds.

Beautiful!!!! Absolutely love the color, in fact I like the colors of your JM better than of the Mustang you sent for a reference!

Awesome , I agree about the middle pickup on a strat, a good one is killer.

Re: Competition Burgundy Jazzmaster Finished Pg. 5!
Thanks! I was worried that the burst edge looked dark blue when I got the first pictures, but it is burgundy. Some of my finished pictures show it better. MJT did a great job. The checking is even horizontal like my vintage Mustang was.
Strats are great guitars. They have so many different sound options that they are really nice for getting loads of options out of one guitar without a bunch of switches and push pull pots. It makes sense that they are so popular as an instrument.
