It's pretty much a Musuar with a custom designed pickguard.

I like that better than the Musuar to be honest. That pickguard shape is fantastic!!

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Thanks! It's really its own thing now.
I should make a guitar version of the Rascal.
Anyhow, here it is test strung up. Before I send it off to Copacetic.

Thinking about making a Rascal Guitar. What'ya reckon?
The second one has a slightly smaller upper horn.
Scallywag/Scamp?

Goddamn it, Pat. I need another guitar like I need a hole in my head but that second one looks sooooo good. I'm having visions of it with a JM trem.
Not sure if that's possible though.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
haha.
I think it needs that guild-shaped bridge plate to tie the whole design concept together.
As cool as Jag trems are, it would take away from the Rascal vibe.
Would love to build you one!

Dang! That looks nice! Both the Musuar and the Rascal! And suddenly I remember that the Rascal Bass was a thing and want one!
You aren‘t based in Europe by any chance?

Nope. Australia.
Would be cool to see a reissue of the Rascal bass. And a cheaper Squier version.

Made some revisions. Think I'm getting obsessed!
Realised the neck pocket length needed to be shorter.
Would also need a 5-way strat lever switch.

That's a fair point. I was just looking around and couldn't find any guild-shaped guitar tailpieces online. Is this a thing that exists or would you be creating that part?CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 3:25 amI think it needs that guild-shaped bridge plate to tie the whole design concept together.

I would be designing the bridge myself in Sketchup and getting it printed in Aluminium at Shapeways.
