Anyone wire a Jazzmaster this way?

More planning happening. I'm not sure I will use the Rhythm circuit in a traditional Jazzmaster so I have been looking for some alternatives. The most popular (at least in search results) seems to be the Rothstein STB Super Mod but it says that it won't work with the stock J Mascis pickups and those are the pickups I have (The Squier P90-ish ones).

Honestly, I rarely use my tone knob. So I was thinking could I make a simpler version of the STB Super Mod that has the two volume controls near the jack and use the roller knobs as two tone controls? And then I would make the slider a kill switch.

Anyone do this before? Thoughts?
