Jaguar neck

I'm, going to attempt to make a neck for my Jag body. The only hard question I have so far is the truss rod. I can get a truss rod from Stewart-MacDonald, they offer a 14.5" and an 18", the 18" is too long and the 14.5" rod seems to be too short. Since this is unknown territory for me I wanted to get other opinions. I know I can order a ready made neck from any number of vendors and I may have to if this project doesn't work. Are there any other vendors that offer truss rods that will work?
