so I will be building a telecaster in the next month or so
and I found this... on the bay

its a good deal I think for alder body paint and such, I will use some of the parts and then well replace all the rest
but will a normal america tele neck fit on it (Standard 2 3/16ths Neck Pocket Width) is that standard tele width what else should I account for.
I want it to be cost effective but a good guitar
my thoughts are is if the neck feels good and the electronics are all upgraded then it wil be worth it.
I do think this is a lot nicer...

Indeed, Jamerson has nice stuff and that body will run to $200+ when all is said and done...
To answer your original question, all tele necks are 25.5" scale with 2 3/16" width square heel (not rounded like on almost all of Fender's other offerings), unless it's a way off the wall custom shop job...
