I just picked this up for $65.
I have no real plans to mod it just yet. Other than re-decalling it, fitting it with slightly better tuners and replacing the pickguard.
Does anyone have a white bronco pickguard laying around they wanna give me?
i'd buy one from Ebay but they are more expensive than the guitar itself.

A popular mod is to drop a Hot Rails in there.

They are really cool. My brother in law had one for a while.

Ooh. Hadn't thought of flatwounds. If hadn't already bought strings for it, I would have gotten them.

I have tapewounds and a rail humbucker on mine, it's really nice to play, I'm thinking of putting a noiseless single there because I can't really ground the tapewound strings.

Very cool! I've been wanting to do something with that glitter acrylic for awhile. I'm glad to see that it looks even better than I thought. Should be a fun guitar.

it looks like that pickguard has just been crudely painted.. id be willing to bet its just an original white guard under there.. Hit it with an acetone soaked rag and maybe buff it a bit, and theres your free white guard! Should melt right off unless they used a fancy catalyzed paint (which it certainly doesnt look like they did)

Yeah it's definitely painted. I just can't be bothered sanding it back and polishing it.

It would be a 10-15 minute job for me, but i obviously have lots of practice lol. The acetone really takes very little effort, far less than sanding. It literally just rubs the paint away. You wouldnt really even need to buff it unless they sanded it before spraying the paint.

If you dont end up being able to find one for a decent deal/free, its always an option!

How have you missed these? They've been a pretty popular cheap entry level bass for the last 15 years or so.
I believe it's 30" scale, same as the mustang bass
