Original Wide Range pups are not at all like standard PAF-type humbuckers. The "re-issues", on the other hand, are.
Also, P-90s are nothing like Jazzmaster pickups. Different design.
Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Strat etc pickups have magnetic polepieces, as do original WRHPs.
P-90s, PAF type humbuckers, and "re-issue" WRHPs have bar magnets.
In my opinion, bar magnets vs magnetic polepieces has a much bigger effect on sound than any other single aspect of pickup design, including single coil vs humbucking.
