Yeah your right about the body, I just cant aford it yet! Its a shame but another will come around I hope, also Aug's bodies sound promising.

They look very good!
The gold guard maybe is a little too aged, but overall, they look great!
One thing: on the back edges, you don't have a lot of wear, otherwise in the front - i haven't seen this on a lot of vintage guitar pictures. But maybe i'm just wrong.
I see, i described that really good... :-\
Here's a pic of what i mean

theres always alot more on the edges as they are a more delicate area, also my camera dosnt show all the details, there is 'stand wear' and dings etc there but in the correct areas

OK, you're totally wrong...Well, if it gets refinished, the drilled holes get stuffed. So, after the refin, operationstrat could just drill new holes.
Please tell me if i'm totally wrong, though

The problem is there wont be a place to put one of the screws, there won't be wood under it. I had a 13 hole guard on my ash '58 body and I had to use a machine screw with a nut on the back to fill the hole.

Edit: It's the lower hole between the jack and tone knob.

mynameisjonas wrote:even though it says it's a '62, that's actually a '58/'59 body (look at the straight control route), which means you'd have to find a 9 hole pickguard for it (or one of the really rare 11 hole ones). the one operationstrat bought won't fit.waynebell wrote:
There is a red one on ebay right now that might fit the bill.

Check it out.
That body looks like ash to me. Someone got a deal I think.
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

God, that red is hideous, though.
Obviously a candidate for a refin.

Hello all, its been a while since the last post. I was just wondering about the Allparts swamp ash and alder jazzmaster bodies, are they any good?? Also I found this neck http://www.allparts.uk.com/replacement- ... ?p=product
Not too sure if this is vintage correct or any good. Does anyone have this neck or any pics of it at all? also does it have a jazzmaster headstock shape?? I am tempted at that price!
Cheers

A jaguar neck won't fit properly on a jazzmaster body. (it will fit, but the scale-length is different (jaguar=24", jazzmaster=25.5"), so intonating you're instrument will be impossible). You'll need to look out for a Fender 25.5" neck (a strat, tele or jazzmasterneck will do the trick)

Ok thanks for the info williamsanders127. Looks like I will need to get a genuine fender neck then.
Thanks again
