I'll be sure to post plenty of clips when this bad girl comes together. Right now I'm having a hellacious time sourcing tuners... >:(

I ordered tuners today; one set each of RH and LH vintage-style Klusons.

I also managed to score what I thought was a used gold-plated 12-string TOM bridge off ebay last week for $9; but when it showed up today, it was actually BRAND NEW! I planned just rob the D-G-B-E saddles off of it (being gold, I figured the chrome would clash), but since it's so nice and new I'm just gonna use it. Besides, it SHOULD compliment the gold foil on the pickups... I hope!

I'm looking forward to seeing this come together. I used to have a two pickup version of that Kimberly, and those pickups are the shit, especially through a high gain dirt box.

Nothing like high gain dirty 12 (or 10) string!

A two-pickup version of the Kimberly would've been much more playable. The shallow neck set plus all those pickups made it impossible to pick without hitting the pickups on mine. Sounded great, played horrible.

The gold bridge with the gold foils- sounds like one of those fortunate happenstance things that can take you in a different direction. Maybe some more gold? (as in tuners, if it's not too late to alter your order?) Not sure how it would look, but thought I'd throw the idea in in case it could work... or if not, could lead to other ideas for a bit of mixing up of the gold with the chrome...

Interesting. You're Tielmanizing your jaguar! (In case you have no clue what I'm talking about, Andy Tielman, leader of the Tielman Brothers, did this to his jazzmaster when forced to play one due to a Fender/management deal. Originally he played with a scarf around the headstock so other people wouldn't notice what he did and copy him, but eventually the scarf went. About half the second-hand jazzmasters in this country (well, before eBay mad importing easy) have four filled holes in the headstock, because indeed everyone and their mother copied the Tielman thing).

I couldn't quickly find a pic of AT's guitar, but here's Alphons Faverey with one.

Gold anodised pickguard! You know it makes sense (this from someone who ordinarily loathes gold hardware on geetars).

I had an s-type 3.8S from the same era, it was my first car and I had no troubles with it at all. But the Triumph Dolemite Sprint and Stag I had were a different story altogether...

Cool, idea. I have been going back and forth between deciding if I want to convert my Jazzblaster into a 10 string ever since I sold my Coronado XII. This thread is inspiring me to go for it. I was planning on buying one of those warmoth 65 12 string necks and plugging up the extra two tuner holes.

Are you going to use the Jaguar tremolo as is or drill any extra holes into the tremolo plate to accommodate the additional 4 strings?

I'm just gonna go two-in-one-hole (kind of like my ex-wife's website pics  ! I am going to disable the vibrato though.

Oh, and I'm rethinking the gold bridge. I tried it and :-X . So I guess I'll just use the 4 gold saddles as planned.
