First layer of clear coat done. I decided to shoot the first hand while body is still flat, this way I could hit there sides very evenly. My thinking is that if there's a bit more substance around the edges, that's fine. During the wet sanding it's usually the edges that get a "sand through". I am using MinWax high gloss lacquer on spray cans.

That is a beautiful color.
We are merely moving shadows.

Thanks! The reddish reflection on the last pic is my t-shirt reflecting from the surface of the clear coat as it starts to build up.
It will be more of clear coating. I applied two cans so far. Should do one-and-a-half more.

Thank you. I'm drawing a blank on the pick guard. Tort, mint, parchment, b/w/b, something else? It will look nice with the amber neck, though the headstock will be matching.

hahaha, I started with the pickguard too. Pickguard is like the Pandora's box, once you pop that open you'll never know what's going to happen.

Wow! Looks fantastic!
I needed this for some inspiration....I had just placed an order with ReRanch, and my '12 Sunburst VMJM will soon be Ocean Turquoise!
Way to go!

What is the name of that duplicolor color? I have a jag project coming up and one of the duplicolors I was going to try looks pretty close to that. Just wondering if it is the same one I got so I would actually know what it looks like on a guitar. Looks great btw!
