Should be. Otherwise we'll start own site. I understand the concern, but c'mon. The world can't be broken up into nice little buckets.

I think you're overreacting... were you referring to incidents in a different thread? There wasn't any yelling in this one, as far as I can see.tvandell wrote: Dude, it's like jail in here. One word to the left or right and we're getting yelled at. First Amendment violation, I tell you.

Re: Your opinion on this offset guitar shape
Yeah, the atmosphere used to be a lot better, but since we've started to grow so much lately, a lot of people have been taking the piss, leading to the possibility of this place going to hell in a handbasket. People who have been around longer may have noticed how some of the more valuable contributors (i.e., people who actually have a lot of information to provide) either barely post anymore or have left altogether. That's not the direction we should be going.tvandell wrote: Dude, it's like jail in here. One word to the left or right and we're getting yelled at. First Amendment violation, I tell you.
Everyone who signs up to this place agrees to abide by the rules. They are hardly draconian, and when people break the rules, most of the time we cut them some slack before we start yelling, let alone take more drastic measures. If you think that's like jail, it makes me suspect you're an only child who should have been kept on a somewhat shorter leash by your parents. Maybe you should try jail for once, it may change your perspective. Personally, I take no enjoyment from having to do this, in fact it irritates the crap out me when I see that yet another person decides to go against our basic set of ground rules, because it means I have to get off my ass and act all authoritative and shit, which, let's face it, isn't really in my character. The way I see it, us mods are the cleaning crew at a party rather than anything else. I don't mind cleaning up at a party, but when people deliberately start pissing in my living room rather than take the time to figure out the toilet is the designated area for that, you can imagine it pisses me off.
First amendment violation? Well, apart from "eh, duh, no", you seem to miss that this is cyberspace, not the USA. Frankly, I don't give a fuck what the rules in the USA are, as I don't live there, nor have any intention of ever doing so. Jesus.

If you'd like to start your own site, you can download SMF Forum software here, PHPBB here, IPB here, and vBulletin here. The last two aren't free though they provide good support for those not familiar with maintaining a php/mysql based website. As for hosting, I use Hostgator and would recommend them to anyone. Cheap and reliable.tvandell wrote: Should be. Otherwise we'll start own site. I understand the concern, but c'mon. The world can't be broken up into nice little buckets.

Nice flame, what're your plans for #3-6? Any LP style carved tops?

No, they'll all be based on the same offset shape like #1 and #2. That flame maple is only 1/4"; carving it isn't an option. It's for the inner top plate like #1. I'm planning on a semi-hollow though, with a LP-style burst finish on the inner plate.FireAarro wrote: Nice flame, what're your plans for #3-6? Any LP style carved tops?

A little more progress on #2 :

Not the easiest color scheme to photograph! :

And work started on #3... :

...which is actually a lefty in real life, mocked up with a flipped over righty pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard :

And #1 plugged in and ready to rock (I need to come up with a truss rod cover fast), with my G&L Legacy (God I hate that MOP pickguard) :
