Thanks! This guitar was many years in the making from when I first had the idea of jamming together a comp stang and a telemaster. I'm obviously biased, but I'm pretty happy with the final outcome. If I could make one change, it would be to angle the neck pickup to match the bridge pickup angle and look more mustang-like.mbene085 wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 4:01 pmI have to say, I'm kinda burnt out on run-of-the-mill telemasters, but that's just plain gorgeous. And funnily enough, I almost always prefer the look of covered telecaster pickups, but the black neck pickup is just what that guitar needed. That's just a great build.

I asked them to do a quick mock-up...Here’s what we got so far
Needless to say, I’m very pleased. Also, the Lavaguard turned out exceptional for the project.

Based on the photos in your original post, I'd say they nailed that color! Definitely has its own thing going on compared to a stock CAR finish.

Thank you. I agree. It definitely looks exceedingly great from the progress shots. I can’t wait to get it back into my hands.krossfader wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 12:56 pmBased on the photos in your original post, I'd say they nailed that color! That looks great! Usually I’m not a fan of tort on red guitars, but something about the darker hue makes it jive really well.

The build is complete. I’ve been dreaming about making this build for years and now it’s finally here. Should be shipping back to me within the next few days. Will post some pics in more natural lighting when it arrives. Also may even try to do a demo. Until then, here are some MJT pics for us to enjoy:

Turned out wonderful. Reminds me of my Oxblood TVL body.

Thanks so much guys. I’m stoked as well. Especially waiting for it to get back. Will be interesting to see it in different lighting.
