But I shoot Nitro very light and rub most of that off
there's a lot of different teles on this thread - if you mean the last Lake Placi Blue tele , that's an Allparts ( TRO-C ) - which is a sorta full C shapeJohn Beef wrote: I like that tele - the neck looks pretty fat. What kind of neck is that?
Yeah, that's the one. Wow, I didn't know about that model. So it's about .90 thick at the 1st fret according to the auction for one on ebay... sounds good! And they have them for strats, too, with maple boards! I'm in love.Danocaster wrote:there's a lot of different teles on this thread - if you mean the last Lake Placi Blue tele , that's an Allparts ( TRO-C ) - which is a sorta full C shapeJohn Beef wrote: I like that tele - the neck looks pretty fat. 10" radius w/ 6105-ish frets and no finish. No finish is reallt the only way to get Allparts neck. Even their "nitro" necks are nitro OVER poly![]()
I know that now, but didn't when I bought my TMNF-Fat on a tele I have. The neck is superb, just outstanding. Originally the guitar had a Warmoth standard thin neck which I bought used, but it was too thin. When I put the TMNF-Fat on there, not only was it more comfortable for my big hands, but the unplugged tone improved substantially. My only complaint about the fat neck is sometimes when I play my other guitars that have thinner necks, and then I switch to the tele, it takes a few minutes to get used to. That's why these C shaped ones are appealing - they look chunky, but not so fat that it would adversely affect my playing, even temporarily.Danocaster wrote: Even their "nitro" necks are nitro OVER poly![]()

Its more like rub until your arm is about to fall off, take a break, rub till it's nearly off again, take a break and repeat about ten times. I could have weak arms though ;-)FUZZ_KING wrote:Danocaster wrote: yes -
EVERYTHING is rubbed out old school - all by hand. I dont even HAVE an electric buffer !!
It takes a lot of work - a lot of muscle - but it looks a lot better.
.... And my wife is always grabbing my body saying she can tell I've been working out !! Just a small side benefit![]()
Musclecaster!
I don't get the rubbing out procedure - when i polished the finish on my own built, i used no buffer, but just a cloth
and polishing compound until it felt like my arm was about to fall off. is that the official "hand-rubbing" procedure?
