doesnt that make the plate redundant?
its not the worst thing you can do to a guitar but i personally prefer the short scaleness of the stang

To each their own, I guess. To me, those mods take a lot of the "Mustang" out of the guitar...At least it's not vintage.

It's blasphemous and genius.

Haha, yeah. I don't actually mind it. The TOM is fine, I'm not really a fan of the Mustang trem, but I do like the scale. It's all cool though. The neck is a bit light, maybe it needs some oil...

I have a tune-o-matic setup like that on my Jag-Stang. I kept the 24" scale neck though.

That looks really good IMO.
(don't like jag stangs though)

Will the guitar intonate with the TOM all angled like that? Looks like good work though.

Thanks. I don't particulary like Jag-Stangs either. They're ok, nothing special. That guitar currently resides in my closet in parts. I think I'm going to go put it back together in a little while.

can't you acheive the same result by removing the springs, flipping the tailpiece, and screwing it to the plate?

Whatever works... if the client is happy then you've done your job. Nice clean work!

The thing is that I get a bad rash out of TOM's with stop tailpeices, but that looks way better - then again I don't have much left for LP's and love the Marauder with all the chromed cover plates....
