Vintage White/Gold Jazz finally done!!

Post by dj_techa » Mon Mar 10, 2008 11:08 am

After a few months of ordering, re-ordering, and re-re-ordering parts, i finally finished building my Jazzmaster.
The Pickups are AVRIs, the neck is from a friends 60s reissue strat, and the body and hardware are CIJ, b/c i've always loved the feel of fender japan guitars.  The rhythm circuit has a repro gibson bumble bee capacitor, and my Orange Drop Varitone switch should be here soon.  The volume pot is a push pull with a phase switch on the bridge pickup, and the tone knob is a Mid scoop when pulled up.  Im setting up the neck today, and so far it plays like a dream!

Very nice!  There's something about a gold guard on vintage white.  Please update us on the varitone when you get it installed.  By the way, whose varitone are you using?

Thanks for the info.  I've been looking around for varitone options, and they're on my short list.

If i can't wait, i'll maybe get a CIJ and do the same thing. Or i'll use my black CIJ pickguard that's lying (is that - lying - right? i always get confused when it comes to this) around... :?

Again, we need more pictures of this.
