I just bought this Musikraft korina body:
just wondering if it will work with a sunburst... it looks quite different from ash, no?

one of the few times i didn't make a real bad deal... but then again, it'll have to come from the US to my place, and anything can go wrong again.
hmmm... i suspected it would look that grainy... maybe more of a candidate for an opaque finish IMO...

well, the neck couldn't be alder- it's not hard enough.
i would say, maple with a sweet rosewood board and clay dots. (i'm such a boring traditionalist!)
Or ebony?

i really want to do mine in a translucent finish- i like the grain. when you see the body, you'll flip out- it's a very unusual looking guitar wood. Very straw-coloured, i would say. With the grain, it makes for a very special look. mine looked like a yellow zebra.....
mine came with lots of bubblewrap, but it still took a bash on one corner. i had to reshape a bit. Maybe it's me, but i think the extra light bodies are SOFT. i drilled a few holes in my korina body, and the drill bit went in VERY fast. Watch out!

Already had that experience with my black JM body, it's swamp ash, and it's like a cotton ball

wow! very nice. I would go with Mary Kay trans. white, and an ebony fretboard, clay dot, musikraft neck...you choose the guard.
I think sunburst can be tricky...unless you have a pro that could do it for you. MK white can be tricky to get even coverage, but with a little prractice you can get it down. I spray the sides first with the body propped up laying flat and then with it hanging, spray the front and back like a machine in vertical patterns with %50 overlap.
Sweet body!

I don't intend to do it myself this time, i was just wondering whether a sunburst would look okay or totally off, with that given grain...

I think what you want is really a target burst, mid-60s style.
