Jaguar neck pocket depth

Post by davidgoerndt » Thu Apr 10, 2008 7:18 pm

I just received my Jag body from Guitar Mill and I wanted to check some dimensions. If anyone has a vintage Jag body that you could  measure the depth of the neck pocket, the control cavities and the pickup cavities. I wanted to verify the accuracy with a vintage body.  I'm getting 9/16" for he neck pocket and I see from different sources that 5/8" is Fender's standard (for a Strat, I'm unsure of what a Jaguar is supposed to be). Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For all of those interested in G Mills Jag body, all of the depths for the cavities are nearly dead on to the dimensions listed in the photos above. Variations are usually 1/4mm or less. It depends on what is used to measure with and where in the pocket you take the measurement. I was using a machinist's rule calibrated in 64ths then converting to metric I ususally got a decimal answer, eg. 29.458mm
