I think Curtis Novaks. They sound great... but I'm at a point where I feel like just about any moderately reliable builder is going to deliver, or perhaps that my ears and amp/pedal setup are not going to notice much of a difference.

Fabulous! I started modding an Eastwood Stomrbird in a similar way: it currently has a set of Lindy Fralin Hum Canceling Alnico Pole Soapbars in it and a Bigsby. The Alnico Soapbars are basically JM pickups with a P90 cover; I might lik4 them better than the real thing. Eventually, I'll refinish it and maybe install a floating tremolo, but I have quite a few projects to complete before I get to it.
