I let the finish cure for a week, after 27 coats, it's still kinda rough, especially where some idiot touched the finish near the output jack...

I lightly wet sanded it with 320 grit. if you look closely at the glare, you can see that it knocked down all of the high spots, but low spots remain, as i didn't want to cut too deeply through the lacquer into the sparkle & color. the next 10 coats will be to fill in the low spots, then we'll let it cure for 2-3 weeks before sanding from 400-3000 grit, followed by buffing and polishing.

38 coats, short of my 40 coat goal, but I've gone through 3 cans of lacquer and it's thick enough, so we're going with it. Now comes the most difficult part: waiting for it to cure, so I can sand and polish.
