Amazing! Can't wait to see itsurfin_bird wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 5:59 amI put in the order for a Champagne Sparkle Jazzmaster (Jon already told me he had another order in the same colour). So I'll be building it's sibbling soon.
Fun fact: I'll be using a Coronado neck with a headstock converted to a telecaster and a 70's telecaster logo. So if you keep the logo they'll be twins.
I think Jon said he'll be shooting it over Burgundy mist right? I know Champagne Sparkle varies but I think we want the same thing.
(Sorry if I'm hijacking your post but how often do you find two people building a "Burgundy Mist" sparkle offset at the same time)

Holy cats that looks perfect. The flake and the pearl guard really go together.snarf wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:32 pmI literally just finished my build this past weekend. Its my first post on offsetguitars.com too Hope it gives you some inspiration for your project though. There is a photo of a champagne sparkle Jaguar at Songbirds guitar museum with a sparkle finish pickguard. The edges are done in black which could probably be done with a fine airbrush.JamesSGBrown wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 12:34 amTalk about a thread hijacking

Pearloid seems like the next best thing. The Jaguar in the photo above also has tele knobs which I don't dig on a Jaguar as much. Tele knobs on a Jazzmaster work for me since I'm all about contrast.
This is where I got the idea for pearloid. This Jaguar is behind glass at Fender HQ:

I'm not sure if its a gold sparkle or a heavily aged champagne sparkle

Could be ash, but also could be alder - plainer ash and grainier alder can look really similar. You'd have to feel the wood to tell the difference, which is harder with a finish.JamesSGBrown wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:40 amI’ll definitely be popping a bottle once it’s done!
It’s been mentioned- does this body look like Ash to you guys?

Re: Champage Sparkle Jag build
Looks like ash to me, but it could be alder. Alder is usually kind of more orangey peach in my experience, where ash is whiter. There are always variations though.
