So I should be getting an update this week.

In the meantime, may I ask- how does one install bridge thimbles? Do you just slot them in? Any soldering or anything needed? I swear on my last MIJ JM they could be taken out super easy, so they were just resting in the routes...

I use the correct diameter sharp drillbit to avoid any paintchipping. And set at low speed to avoid wood/paint burns.
Depending on the diameter of the thimbles. Sometimes I drill a pilot hole first using a small diameter drill. (usually to make sure It all lines up)

If you use a correct sized drillbit, then the thimbles just slide in. On the old MIJ guitars I noticed the used a slightly larger drill then the actual thimble diameter. Don't forget to drill a small hole from the thimble hole to the control cavety to ground the bridge. (Or you might wanna go oldschool and ground via the trem cavety on the tremplate)

Cool cool. The body is routed to vintage specs and the thimbles are genuine USA Fender so I guess they should just slide in. I'm gonna go oldschool and just wire through to trem cavity for ground.

The rout would have been a tight fit for the thimble before the finish went on, and sparkle finishes are generally thick. You'll likely need to sand or drill the holes in order to install the thimbles - if you try to hammer them in as-is, you might cause stress cracks in the finish around them.

Pickguard in progress...

Now, I have a question regarding cutting the decal accurately. The Croxguitars one I have seems to all be on one rectangular piece of paper/transfer/whatever it is, I know all the Fender ones were cut differently- any advice? Scissors? Craft knife? Any templates online I could blow up to size and use as a guide?

So stoked and impatient at the same time.

It's gorgeous and it'll be an amazing jag. Good god.
I just wish my Jazzmaster body would be ready too.
