i think they're pretty perfect. just grease 'em up and they're no bother. the ones with the nylon spacer are great coz you can sand them down to exact heights. not that you need to fuss over these things too much.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:08 amI've never had an issue with the old school butterfly style ones. lol i've definitely never even lubed my string tree or thought about it really. they don't really need maintenance or tweaking, they just do their thing.MechaBulletBill wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 5:03 ami think they're pretty perfect. just grease 'em up and they're no bother. the ones with the nylon spacer are great coz you can sand them down to exact heights. not that you need to fuss over these things too much.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:08 amI've never had an issue with the old school butterfly style ones. Agree. If you want to lube a place that is often not considered go for the nut.i've definitely never even lubed my string tree or thought about it really. they don't really need maintenance or tweaking,
Every time I change strings I put some graphite in the nut slots, using a 'lead' pencil.

Re: Mastery String Tree....
Honestly I don't even find it necessary for me to lube the nuts on my offests, they keep tune just fine without it. (Thanks Leo!)
But I def. lube the nut on my SG with vibrola, and even with a roller bridge it is very touchy about staying in tune.

Re: Mastery String Tree....
never had a string tree issue unless its a lack of one (fender bass a string?)
i experimented with putting vaseline on it once or twice just to see what it felt like but its nothing to be ashamed of everyone experiments at some point.

Re: Mastery String Tree....
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know I bought the Mastery string tree and it is a very nice upgrade on the classic stock string tree found on Jazzmasters. I also have a Staytrem bridge and a Mastery vibrato on the same guitar. All I can say is that the E and B string feel a little more precise when they ring out. Also, the trem action seems a little more stable and slick. They are expensive, but I'm going to put them on all my offset guitars now.
