I emailed Mojo Pickups and asked if they had shorter screws. Hopefully they will have a solution vs me taking a dremel cutter to the existing ones. LOL I can't be the first person who had this issue. I am not sure why the pole pieces are so long. I know the pole pieces are supposed to be adjustable, but they stick out like almost 1/2" below the magnets. I will probably leave the decal alone. I might swap out the pickups for some Antiquity I pickups I have later today.

Can't you deepen the routes?

I already painted it with shielding paint. I don't really want to take it all apart to rout it.

I like the color of the body and how it matches nicely with the guard.

Thanks! I think it all goes pretty well together. Kind of a deal where each thing is crazy, but they sort of seem normal together.

That torn decal really ties it together. I think it looks great like that.

I was pretty upset when it happened, but I totally agree. I also tore part of the song, but it left "The lovers, the dreamers, and me." :)

No reply yet from Mojo Tone. I decided to put in my Antiquity I's I had for a different project to try out since I knew they would fit better and the other project is missing parts still. These pictures show the issue. Those screws sticking down out of the bottom and the pole pieces stick up like 1/4" above the plastic cover. If it sat lower, that wouldn't be an issue, but combined I can't get the neck pickup low enough without routing. Hopefully they can send me shorter screws. Would it destroy the pickups if I used my nippers and cut the screws flush with the magnets? I don't change pole pieces so I don't need the long screws out the bottom.

With the ones I was able to take out both shims and get the strings where I wanted them.

Here is a sound demo and some info. Keep in mind I used 500k pots for the normal volume and tone because I was anticipating the pickups to be p90's and that is the norm for those.....

The other tragedy is I pulled up my decal putting the string tree on. Never done that before. I guess I didn't put enough clear over it. I will probably leave it. Given how beat up the look is, it fits. It is just a little bummer. LOL

Otherwise I am really pleased with how it looks. :)

That looks great @HNB. A JM with a crazy strong presence.

For the long pole pieces, if it was me, I would drill six nicely aligned clean holes on the bottom of the pickup cavity and touch them up with shield paint.

I love it! Combined with the green colour, the extreme wear on the finish looks less like play wear and more like some kind of radioactive decay. I'm way into that!

Totally not a bad idea. I just get a little irritated when I buy something that is said to be Jazzmaster compatible and it turns out that it isn't without modifying the body. I don't mind modding to put pickups in that aren't designed for the Jazzmaster, but I feel like Jazzmaster pickups should fit in a Jazzmaster. LOL :D

Got it done today. I added a Stew Mac five degree shim and it is perfect now. :D Those little bits of wood make a really big difference. I need to grab a 52mm bridge for it still. The spacing is really wide.

Looks great! Perfectly murky looking.

And FWIW, you can go ahead and shorten those screws without messing anything up. Weird that they'd come like that, but it's nothing a dremel won't fix.
This is an excellent rectangle
