25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
Am I the only nut whos slapped a strat neck on a Duo Sonic?
Had a fender strat neck sitting around so bought a Duo Sonic body..wired a rotary switch a la Electric XII.
Threw a couple o alnico V pups in it with the intention of offloading it on ebay/reverb.
Wont be happening no time soon..Cant put the thing down!
Any one know a easy way to upload photos? Id upload a picture but havent the foggiest how to?

Sounds awesome!
As for pictures, you'll need an account on an image hosting site. Imgur is a good one (free too). If you use Imgue, once you upload a picture, get the direct link to the picture (click on the picture, press the "copy" button on the right side next to the direct link URL which automatically copies the address. Back on OSG, you press the image button (3rd button left of the "normal/tiny/small" pulldown, the one that looks like a mountain with a sun/moon) and paste the link between the "]" and "[" image brackets.
Here's a thread dedicated to doing just that in case you need any more help:

Re: 25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
Got the body off A chap on EBAY called HZGUITARS who sells Chinese bodies ,based in manchester..
Must admit, the body is flawless,Free anodised pickguard well impressed.
He described it as vintage spec 58-64
I could have got it to work with the vintage type bridge but would have had to move it back 10mm ish.
Instead..
I removed the tele type saddles from vintage bridge and modified "cut/drilled" a bridge plate off a soviet bass..
Gives me the extra distance to comfortably intonate.
I had a MIM duo but the pick guard on that model would make this conversion trickier.
Not sure about squier..

Re: 25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
I put a 25.5 scale conversion neck from dc kunkle on a duo sonic body. It feels weird to me, especially how far out the first fret is (kinda like a Gibson Firebird-type feeling); and the string tension is more than I like, too. This idea to just slap a strat neck on, and move the bridge back, is clever. Kudos!

Re: 25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
Cheers Zafter..
Not gonna be for everybody..I had a couple o jags and a couple o duos. All of which looked great..Shame cos they hardly got played.
Just prefer 25.5s
If anyone planning this mod,you may notice a slight loss of brightness from the bridge pup.
I dont mind as gives it a sound of its own.

Re: 25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
Thanks jagstang
Regarding the "Squier Classic Vibe Duo" I believe that my Duo body is the same spec and was made for 24 inch 21 fret neck like the CV and shares the same pickguard.

Re: 25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
ok, here's my modified duo-sonic with a 25.5 stratneck. Before i had a squier vista jagmaster neck installed and for this i had to move the bridge forwards the neck for the jagmasters neck is a real 24". Now with the 25.5 neck i could go back to the original position.

Re: 25.5 Scale Duo Sonic
Oh, tell me about it. My mustang and duo both went pretty much unplayed for years for that same reason. That’s why I tried the conversion at all.
I’ve noticed some builders like Creston and Revelator have scaled up the bodies slightly and made gibson scale mustangs and duos. Interesting idea.
