Red or tortoise Pickguard on a Jag Stang

Post by jagstanger » Fri Nov 27, 2020 4:20 am

Hello together,

first of all, I know, there's aftermarket pickguards for the Jag Stang out there. But I just want to do it myself :)

I want to change the pickguard on my Jag Stang. I like the white but as the Skystang is such beautiful color combination, I want to go in that direction a little bit more. I want to get some kind of red or tortoise blank sheet to file my onw out of it.

I was fooling around with photoshop today, so get an impression. It's not perfect, but it's enough for me to see, that it will look good. With that, I also thought about changing the shape of the pickguard in the lower horn, so it flows more with the outer shape of the body.

I also thought about changing the control plate with perloid, but after trying that with photoshop, I think it just looks stupid.

Here are my thoughts in pics. What du you guys think of it?

Here's a pic of sonic blue (not mine and the early horn shapes, but just i high res pic, to fool around with photoshop):

Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you!
