ht in the lever and if the plate is made of pickguard material, I would sand it down until it's 1mm thick and see if the lever has enough room to travel with the tip.
Good Idea! I'll give that a go. An aluminium plate would be fine too, was hoping to keep it matching the pick guard though.

EDIT: Aluminium plate it'll have to be. Got the plastic plate down to 1mm and it still just too low. Don't think I can take any more material off without buggering it, and the aluminium will be more sturdy.

No worries, if you end up with the aluminium plate, it can always be spray painted black if you want it to match the pickguard.

I recently used some acid to etch aluminum parts black for a build, might be a good solution if you want to blacken the plate but still have it look like metal.

Well, It's done! (apologies for the slightly blurry photos)

Posted next to the guitar that inspired it, my Reverend Warhawk 390.

Overall, its a fun guitar to play, I wired it up with the PTB circuit which I'm really pleased with (again inspired by the Reverend) and it makes it pretty versatile. Thanks to Amon for the aluminium idea, it cut really easily and looks the part with the knobs I chose.

If I were to have another go at it, I'd take a little more time on the finish, specifically on the edges. I might have another crack at the pick-guard. It was done by hand and I'd like it to match up more with the contour of the cutaway. I think I'd spend a bit more on the neck next time too. The one on there is fine, but it's a little chunky.

We'll see how the body holds up over time. But I'll probably pick up another one for the next project.

Wow, that came out great! I love the design choices you made. I think it looks better than the Reverend.

Thank you! Even though it a a little rough round the edges I’m very pleased with how it’s turned out.

I actually added one of these to it today

Feel it rounds the look off nicely, but the action is super high now because the Les trem needs the bridge to sit a bit higher to create the right break angle. I should be able to shim the neck to get it back to where it was. Anyone else had this issue with these and come up with different solutions?

Awesome build! I love the Firebird meets Jazzmaster aesthetic. Dig the color too.

Thanks all!

Think I've fixed it now, the images and the neck angle.

Massive fan of the Les Trem. It's the Goldo one, rather than Dusenburg but it's identical bar the tip of the trem. Really love the action of it, feels like a bigsby but with more range.

Yeah, this came out really nicely!!

Great job balancing the two styles into one.

Much appreciated!

I feel like I might want a third one with gold foils in Charcoal Frost... Just to round out the collection. :shifty:

There you go, the aluminium plate worked really good and matches the colour scheme perfectly!
I'm glad you managed to sort it out, you did quite a good job and the guitar looks awesome!
The Les Trem is the icying on the cake. ;)

Thanks again for the idea! Really pleased with how it turned out. Certainly not perfect and I'm not going to be showing anyone what it looks like underneath any time soon. But it definitely fits the aesthetic.
