Wow. Real purdy. I'm not a huge fan of pearloid guards but I'm interested to see how this ends up.
I also don't normally like pearloid guards. When I got this body, it was the only color that really made sense to me in my head. I didn't want white of course or it wouldn't match the binding and I also didn't want hard core cream either. Luckily Real Life Relics does a blotchy stained version so it is kind of in between and cool looking. :)

Yeah, I do like a nicotine-pickled pearloid guard.

Looking great so far.

Thanks! It might get a bound neck. The only thing I am concerned about is the binding not being the same color. I will have to see. I don't plan on matching the headstock because I don't think I would be able to find the right color and also I don't tend to bond well with matching headstocks for whatever reason. I used to do them a lot, but didn't bond with the guitars. No idea why. :) I think they look cool in pictures, just don't tend to dig them when I have them in hand. I feel like I have owned every competition mustang color aside from orange and I didn't keep any of them. One of my weird quicks I guess. :D Next month is my neck month for this and the Gibbard Jazzmaster. :)
I'm the same. I've always preferred a plain headstock over a matching one.

Got a neck from kdanie this week. I guess he got it from Australia and it had thick poly he removed and refinished. :D I just need strings to give it a proper try. :)

That looks amazing. I'm impressed you had the patience to post an update before stringing it up.

I think it suits that guitar nicely.

I like this colour combination. Why is the heel different?

Just how whoever got this guitar body made did it. MJT finished it, but I am not sure where the body originated from since flat top bound isn’t one of their normal offerings. I like that it is an oddity though. Something a little unusual. :)

Nice project either way..

Just the upper left hole is different. The other three are in the usual spot. The shaved corner is done on some Fenders to get better access to upper frets. I think this has a Fender American Ultra neck plate. :)

Thanks! I can't wait to hear how it sounds. The body has been together forever it feels like. I was waiting on the neck for this one and the neck for my Gibbard one, but like I said.... Stratosphere messed up my order and I had to wait to order new ones. I ordered a bound and dot strat neck and all maple strat neck and they sent me two normal rosewood strat necks instead.... Oh well. It is just time, right?

Wow that is looking awesome so far, almost like what an Aerodyne Jazzmaster might look like. Dig it.

All done! Turned out great. :D I got the decal on it old style just on the surface. It is named after my step grandmother who always treated me like family. I thought of her the instant I saw the body.
