There are only a few extra frets in there, so depending on the mode (makam) you want to play you have to play in certain tonalities. I haven't quite began to tackle those, so most of what I play relies on the western 12 tones. I am really curious though. I might build a long-neck version for myself when I get the time.
Haha. I made that table from an 80-year-old slab of figured oak I found at the same closed-down sawmill where I got the douglas fir I used on this build. It made a nice, sturdy (and heavy as hell) coffee table.antisymmetric wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 2:11 amThat's come out awesome, and btw that table it's sitting on is pretty interesting too, did you have something to do with with that? Some sound samples would be great, if you could twist your brother's arm into doing some (metaphorically obviously, he needs to be physically able to play)...
Yes indeed. OSG also has the most relaxed vibes of all the guitar-oriented forums out there. It's refreshing to see all the crazy stuff people build out there, without the usual shouting matches / death threats / trolling / etc.Veitchy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 3:05 amOne of the things I love about this forum is the surprisingly wide variety of stringed instruments that turn up. No other guitar forum I'm on/browse has this rich an array. Not even on the Tele forum and that's got it's fair share of bluegrass cats.
I dig the difference.
