Blue Ash Jazzmaster

Post by HNB » Sun Sep 12, 2021 12:26 pm

This is the body I had intended to sticker up a ways back ala Billie Joe's "Blue." I ended up finding a different finished body to use and had this body hanging around. Finally feeling motivated to work on it. :) I installed the tremolo, one thimble, and one coat of shielding paint. :) Still working out what I want it to look like.

Abalone pickguard came in. I like it. I am not a fan of the knobs being so white. Going to try to dye them with Stewmac amber dye diluted in water. :)

Knobs weren't taking the dye, so I just swapped the covers. :)

Absolutely! I mean that in the best possibly way. I get pulled in 8 different directions
and while I love working on instruments I have to wrestle the time away to do it.
I think we all love your builds!

All those Allparts witch hats? I seem to recall them being considerably whiter than the Fender ones, but things may be different these days.

Thanks! I was really having trouble picking a guard for it. Tort is fine. Could do pearl or white or black, but the body was so bright I wanted something more unusual. This abalone is great. :D Super excited.

Not sure if they were from Allparts. I got them online and they came in a bag. They match the other covers much better. :)

With ash going away rapidly, I try to use it as often as I can. :D

Pickguard is wired. I picked these p90 style pickups because they were two wire instead of braided Gibson style. I wanted to do series parallel with the upper switch and this works much easier. :)

Got it all together. I just need a neck and straplocks for this to be done. :)
