jaguar mute-like gadget to switch between fixed and floating bridge

Hey! Decade long lurker, seldom poster here. I just had an idea of some sort of device that would let you fix a rocking bridge at the flip of a switch. The goal being: floating bridge and tremolo > fixed bridge and locked tremolo by engaging said device and the trem lock.
My idea right now would be a kind of clamp underneath and between the legs of the bridge, fixed to the body. When you engage it, it clamps together on the baseplate forcing it upright and centered. I am (obviously) no engineer and how one were to make something like this, i have no clue. So I'm kinda just wondering what people think of the idea and whether anyone has any better ideas on how to achieve this.
