Left handed Sherwood Green Jag project

A few months back Johnny did an amazingly generous thing, giving me a finders fee that he definitely did not owe me. After refused to take the cash back, I agreed to put it towards something fun. And some of you may have noticed the lack of offsets in my collection of late.

There’s a seller on eBay who sells finished Jag bodies left handed & I’d been planning a project for ages. So why the hell not. Unfortunately the guy only does relic finishes; and I shit you not this was me asking for v light wear. It’s ott for me, I’m sure I’ll get used it. Important part is it’s done well & the Alder body is nice & light.

I’ve been slowly stockpiling everything needed, including a factory 2nd jagstang neck, mastery bridge & hot wound Toltec pickups.

Body arrived a few days ago, and today made a start with shielding tape, and fitted a few bits on. Upper control plate looks to have a bit of fitting issue, but other than that looking forward to wiring all up this weekend.

The colour definitely pops.

@blixa, replied to your pm 8)

I had to ream out the holes between the cavities, and got all the wiring through. Gonna solder shortly. Drilled the holes for pickguard etc, definitely going to be some issues with the rhythm switch fitting. Will worry about that once everything else is sorted.

Annoyingly I’ve misplaced the pickup foam, so can’t finish it all off until I find those :fp:

Love the color! Where did you source the neck from?

eBay. Someone in the US seems to get lots of factory second jagstang necks, some in better condition than others. This one looks straight, just had some machine marks on the fretboard - a good oil sorted that out though.

Had to order new foam for the pickups. But all wired up & seems to be working as expected. Managed to gently assuage (aka force) the rhythm circuit into place without any major body modifications, which was a nice surprise.

Haha, cheers. Of course, lefties always welcome when in London. I regrettably sold most of the interesting/rare ones though.
