^^^That Bonamassa(?) Firebird is looking the business with the vibrola. Out of curiosity, how are you finding the tuning stability?

Great to see this thread revived. Yes, that Firebird is the tits! It reminds me of "the one that got away" - a reverse '67 Firebird I which had a non-reverse headstock, refinished in black and routed for a neck pickup *and* binding installed, yet still with the single volume / tone knobs.

Do you have locking posts on the wraparound? That configuration has always seemed to me the most badass-looking Gibson bridge/tailpiece combo, but the most practically compromised - the wrap obviously wanting string tension to pull it towards the neck, and into the posts.

I looked at doing this with an intonatable wrap, locking posts and roller saddles in the past, since I've always loved the Maestro. I have one on my Flying V and it really is a superb design, let down mainly by being poorly implemented into the production process - bolted onto guitars half way through construction whose neck angles were sometimes too shallow, or being combined with unsuitable bridges.

What's the plan for it?

Still going to upgrade the bridge and let it rock (seems to help on my other bigsby guitars), replace the janky plastic and pots/caps

I hear that, I'm a big fan of rocking high-friction bridges. So what's the plan? Perhaps a StayTrem?

Wrap tail has enough give for the vibrola design, I won’t be going for a locked model and it should match well with the limited range of the vibrola
