Post by Eagle Eyes » Sun Nov 09, 2008 6:39 pm

You don't need the spring assembly or the arm mounting - they're already included with the trem.

Shielding - if you go for the brass you'll need everything marked jazzmaster on the GPR page, two of the pickup plates.

Best thing to do is trawl through some of the projects on the Mods/Projects/Restorations board here - these are a good start:

Good luck!

Here's Fenders official list of what's in a Jazzmaster (AVRI 62):

And here's the drawing/layout with the preferences from the list:

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Just to add:
- The wiring kit from Acme is pretty expensive - buy the parts from that kit-list elsewhere and you'll save a few $$.
- The bracket is needed.
- So are two of those roller knobs
- You need four pieces of brass shielding (2x pup shield, rythm cav., lead cav/"tub")
- also one alu pickguard shield.

:)

thanks for the info, very helpful.

I think I will just line all the cavities with my own copper shielding tape like this,
index.php/topic,5608.msg117682.html#msg117682

which would be more then sufficient right?  all the fender brass parts seem like a unneeded cost at this point for me and I am not trying to be vintage correct.
