Fender TBX tone control

I have a spare TBX tone control, from a Stratocaster if people remember it? (INDENT AT 5)

Has anyone any experience of this in a Jazzmaster? I'm thinking of adding it to the neck..

If you already have 1 meg pots and you still want your neck pickup to sound brighter, then by all means use it

  That's the problem with the TBX tone control.  It goes from 250 (standard for strats) to 1 meg (standard for JMs, but bright for strats).  When I put one in my Jazzmaster, it just sounded like the stock tone control when it was all the way up and too dark (for my tastes*) when it was in the middle or lower.  I wrote a review of it here somewhere.

The other guit player in my band has a Tele Plus with a TBX tone pot.  He like the sound a lot, but finds the pot kind of stiff for pinky swells.  How the TBX pot you have in terms of how easy it is to turn?  Wondering if they are all like that.

  Oh, yeah.  Mine was stiff.  I thought it was just mine, but maybe they all are...

Mine is sort of stiff in comparison to the volume control but I don't really touch the tone knob too much so it's all good. I have one in my Tele Plus as well (they're stock in those guitars) and I've never really thought about how it affects the sound because I've never had anything different in that guitar...
