Did my part to stimulate the economy today

Post by Hawaii 5-0 » Mon Dec 01, 2008 9:43 am

I finally saved up enough to place my order with Musikraft, for a new neck for my Jazzmaster.  I ordered the big CBS headstock, ebony fingerboard, and quarter sawn maple - so I don't need to worry about heavier string gauges.  And now.......  the wait begins.

Sounds like a neck deluxe with extra everything.  8)
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Nice!  I need to do some stimulating of my own at Musikraft but I'll have to wait till the christmas shopping for others is done  ;)

Sorry, this doesn't belong here, i'm just interested: what does quartersawn really mean and what are it's advantages?

I have to agree, by the way: sound like a good neck! Let's hope it sounds as good as it's describtion :)

With a quartersawn neck, you'll have the grain running in parallel with each other in the length direction of the neck. It's supposed to be much more stable.
