Hi All,

I haven't posted in a while, since I've been pretty busy. (becoming a Dad, takes a lot of your spare time  :)
But I also restaured a few guitars (old Tesco ES-335 copy, Heerby Les Paul, the Hag-Master, etc...
I also started making plans for a hollowbody Jazzmaster... But I don't want to go the Alder or Ash route for this one.
My first Idea would be to take some Maghony with a nice maple top. Talking dual F-hole here, no guard, no rythem cuircuit, stock trem, bridge and neck.
Pick ups will most likely be a SD Hot in the bridge and a CIJ stock bridge in the neck (SD are differently wound to MIJ pups, so in order to get the Hum canceling effect, I need to put a MIJ Bridge in the neck position)

So any other ideas?? I want something a bit warmer sounding.
And, the body will have two big hollow chambers. Middle (where the pups, bridge and trem will be will be solid wood. I'm thinking of going the way of a thinline tele construction (since I build on before)

Congratulations Jerry .. you could probably do better than a CIJ pup, unless you already have one lying around. SD SJM-1 perhaps, or maybe some kind of P90?

Hi All,

Thanks for the kind replies....

Our son is doing fine and growing really fast  ::) (and as a good dad, I already started collecting guitars.....you never know :D

Well, as usuall I will try to keep te cost of this project as low as possible. As far as the choiche of wood(s) go, I will take what is availble localy.
So Far I can get my hands on hard maple (for the top) and african Padouk, which is a nice wood to work with as I have used this on my Tele.
But I will look further as well.
As far as the Pu's go. I already dropded the CIJ option, since I have a MIJ JM with Antiquity II's in it which I soon will try with different pu's.

Warmoth site is really intersting. Thanks for the link.
This will be a summer project, so I got some time to look for the body wood(s). Other thingies like neck, etc.. are alread in the parts bin...
Hoping for a good player though....
