I'm very eager to watch that thread; I hope you post many details and pics... I can not wait to attempt that style of build; I have a mustang/les Paul hybrid in my head that needs to come out...temucin wrote:my Prs build. Im currently waitng for tools and parts so im stuck with this

Carve top, set neck, 13 degree neck angle mustang? Is that the ideas you have? i was thinking of doing a jazzmaster like that one day.andrewdoeshair wrote:I'm very eager to watch that thread; I hope you post many details and pics... I hope you mean 13° headstock angle, because a 13° neck angle would be disastrous. Most carved top LP-style guitars, or similar, are right around 4° neck angle.temucin wrote:Carve top, set neck, 13 degree neck angle mustang?

I'm just waiting for some cooler weather to put the last few coats of clear on my TeleMaster project.
Here is the mock-up, and original 52 neck and bridge with a USA Custom ash body. It's received it's butterscotch blonde
finish, but is awaiting clear coats...

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I was lead astray to another forum where doods were building Les Pauls, and I saw a few router/planer tricks that are making me want to glue some maple on top of some mahogany... I'm just not too sure about a set neck joint, or the technique and tools to carve the top...temucin wrote:Carve top, set neck, 13 degree neck angle mustang? But in a few days when I meet up with Paul, I hope to inspect that Les Paul Jr's neck joint and become inspired...
Speaking of that; flight leaves in 12 hours! I need to sleep soon...
