Starting in on the project backlog, it seems like an age since I've worked on anything.
My poor old Jolana Rubin was subjected to a partial and very rough block inlay conversion some time in its past. I'm doing a level/ refret and taking the opportunity to undo the damage as well, thinking I'll go for Hofner (and other German guitars)-style full-width inlays right across the fingerboard. I've already installed a Hofner trem, so there's a bit of continuity as it turns out:

That's a pretty wacky trem! How does it play?

^^It plays nice! Basically similar in operation to a Bigsby, but seems more responsive. I'd say it's probably what a Bigsby would be if it had a larger diameter string anchor bar (if that's the correct term).

^^Haha yes, not as pretty and could use some refining (plan on redoing it sooner or later) but it works well and basically cost me only the price of the dial gauges.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I bought this old Kay Swingmaster husk body off ebay for cheap. Going to make a neck for it and use extra hardware/pickups I have from the Bigsby project. It was one of the ones with the Kleenex pickups, unfortunate victim of a ebay part outer!
Thinking about how to go about it...started dimension-ing the neck with a 3D print which wound up being perfect first try...which is a rare feat.
The holes for the tremolo plate on the rear are too far spaced apart for the plate I have left over, so I will have to cast another, I think a 3 leaf clover might look cool for that part. Currently printing spacers to conform to the radius of the top for the pickup rings, they will cover the unsightly holes left over there too.

I actually have an original Kay bigsby for that - if you’re interested.

This bronze sparkle burst jazz bass has a few weeks to cure:
Emily from Get Offset’s Musicmaster bass isn’t on the workbench, but is in the queue.
Gearing up for fall’s humidity drop to spray a couple guitars in nitrocellulose. I missed the window last June working 12 hour days in my 9-5. It’s going to be a busy fall in the glitter lab!

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
as i was in holidays i have some times for things thant stay untouch for too much time
first regluing tolex of my jumbo and installation of iec plug plus rewiring ,some wire are really bad and i have change the din 3 for a din 5 cause i have find a volume pédal plus put another fuse holder to have real fuse and not aluminium wrapped over a bad one
refretting my sg2
it take me much time cause of the brittle old rosewood ,i have filled more than sand cause the board was really thin ,and also resaw the slot for modern fret wire ect ......
some paint and varnish put on the sg
it is a metallic black ,dont know if it is visible in the pics but in the sun it is cool cause have some brass sparkle in it
the body seems ok but i have some run on the neck will see later i let it rot (dry) for one month before looking it for polishing
since my life is too much busy i have no real spare time since too much time but i have fight to do lot of things during my holidays cause if not it will stay untouch for lot of time again

Exactly this.
That black metallic looks the business. Plus, your warnings about the SG2 fretboard are duly noted. I need to do my own, not really looking forward to it.
My latest entry in the waste-of -time olympics : The routing is all done for the new blocks to cover up the previous mess. The blocks will be made from the red/black/white material on the bench just to the right....
