Re: What's on your workbench right now?
When I had my Domino Olympic (Aria 180x) apart for refinishing, I made some tracings so I could make a copy. I cut and routed the body this weekend. I've made a few adjustments from the original as I've switched to 25" scale from 24.75", used standard neck pocket dimensions, an easier to source Jag/Jazz style bridge and vibrato, and a different control setup than my Domino has. Next up are the body contours, neck profile/headstock outline, and pickguard making. Pickups will be A6 lipsticks from either Novak or MojoUK. I've been debating the neck inlays. I've never played a neck without inlays, but I don't want to ruin the look of the fretboard by adding anything, so I may keep it as is.

I like it. It's clean and stylish with just the right amount of offset. Thumbs-up!

You should do the oversized knobby headstock like the original!

I don't have an Aria to copy, but I'm planning to copy the shape from my Domino as close as possible. Oddly, their heads are fairly different. The Aria looks more like a Strat to me, while the Domino is more like a Jaguar.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:39 pmCool!ThePearDream wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 11:16 amWhen I had my Domino Olympic (Aria 180x) apart for refinishing, I made some tracings so I could make a copy. This is beautiful!! I love hollow-/semi-hollow bodied guitars with no cutaways! I've been wanting to make something similar for a long time...SuperAxe wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 6:45 pmThis came of my work bench last week... Not much yet. Have the neck clamped up for the scarf joint and side bending forms shaped up. A much different process than solidbodies.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
So true... re the photo of the red guitar above... I made its body as an acoustic guitar, bending sides, kerf lining, etc. Sooo much more work and skill required.
Good luck with yours. Any electronics going in?
