Well, I suppose I could always buy one or see if any stores have any allparts mint guards laying around to see what I'm getting myself into. I could try screwing it to a plank of wood and leaving it out in the sun for awhile and see if it lightens a bit, and if not, I'll dunk it in a tub of coffee and see if anything good comes of that. :)

Don't apologize.

The more I see mint guards, the more I like them.
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Me too!

I've been wanting a Mint Green guard Jazzmaster ever since I first saw The Go! Team in 2005. The Japanese girl guitar player(who smiled at me throughout the set, :)) was playing one and it was a beaut(she also played a mid 60s pre cbs sunburst jazzmaster which is very nice).

So now that I see Johnny Marr is playing one, I just have to have one.

And then there are always these:

Oh the decisions! I'm not sure what I should get. I'm starting to think I should just get a white guard. :-/

I know GPR doesn't have the best reputation here, but I just got a parchment 3-ply Jazz Bass guard from them for $22.95.  Looks great.  Compared to a guard from Pickguardian for $50 or $60, it is actually quite good.  It is a tiny bit on the green side compared to Pickguardian's material, but really looks just off white if you don't compare.  Nowhere near as green as most aftermarket mint guards (too green for me), and not even close to the Fender mint guard on my Jag bass, which is just slightly mint.

Sadly, it doesn't look like they have it for the JM yet. Not sure who their material source is either.

It's the mastermind behind all of The Go! Team's music. He usually stays off stage, and runs the drum machines and sampling. But he writes all the music and whatnot. He'll often go on stage and play drums or guitar or play harmonica on a few songs.

That's my Jazzmaster actually, it's a '63, lent it to Ian from the Go Team! for a long while. Shouldn't have asked for it back as it now isn't being used and just sits in its case

The real question: whose blood is on the pickups? ;)
