The Pseudohagmaster
The Pseudohagmaster
OK, so the name needs some work...
Assuming I buy Jerry's Hagstrom II body, I plan to turn it into this:
Featuring:
Single P-90
A momentary kill switch
Black blocks
CBS headstock
The only thing I don't want in the pic above is the binding - it's expensive, and I'm not crazy about black binding anyway, especially on a natural guitar. This is just my plan for a cheap, cool, unique guitar. Hope it works out!
NB: even if this goes ahead, progress will be slow. Daughter No. 2 is on her way, and with two kids under 2 in the house, guitar building will take a back seat.

Re: The Pseudohagmaster
sorry, can't get behind that. The headstock just doesn't fit (IMHO).

Re: The Pseudohagmaster
Nice project.
I'm not much into the black block on maple necks but that's just me.
Good luck to find a momentary kill switch. I've been searching one for months but never found it. I only found momentary switches that let the signal pass when it's push on but never the opposite way..
About the name: What do you think of Jazzstrom.. or Jazzstrom Special ?

It's not that different from the original headstock...mjet wrote: sorry, can't get behind that. The headstock just doesn't fit (IMHO).

Re: The Pseudohagmaster
I like this. I've been jonesin' for a Hag of some sort and love that body shape -- it satisfies my craving for an SG or EB bass, and it's offset. Cool project for sure. Keep us in the loop.
Congrats on the 2nd one daughter on the way too!

Yeah, the OG headstock looked more like pre-CBS, but close enough. I'd make it red!
What's he building in there?

I was about to explain the joke here, but at second thought a joke is not a joke if it needs to be explained, so I'll leave it for the Swedes (it may even be a bad joke, soo....)
ah...wtf
* Jazzmästar'n is close to Hovmästa'n, wich is serving personel in a restaurant.
* en tolva = a twelve. In Sweden you use the term en fyra or en sexa (a four/a six) when ordering booze/drinks at a bar/pub/restaurant - the numbers are refering to the amount of booze (in centiliters). a twelve is ALSO speaking language for a blues song.
Do you get it?
hahaha.....

I didn't get it till you clarified. A bit far fetched maybe
