Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Couldn't be bothered starting a thread but just wanted to post this link.
Eyguitars are selling affordable left handed Jaguar control plates.
https://www.eyguitarmusic.com/Left-hand ... _2789.html
They are also selling a lefty Mustang control plate, which seem to be hard to come by.
It's the bonkers mis-shaped version I've been complaining about. but it's something!

It still has the protective plastic on it which is wrinkly in some bits.

I've had a bit of a cold so I haven't been able to work on this as much as I would like,
But it's mostly done.
Just gotta rout the pickup and tremolo cavities.

Thanks!
Those are cheapo witch hat knobs. I must have got them from China through Ebay,
They are not as nice as some. The silver isn't as chromey as legit knobs.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Just joined OSG mainly to say I'm super impressed by the guitars in this thread.
In the past couple of years, I've contemplated building a guitar with a Mustang body, 25.5" maple neck, JM neck p/u, and Tele bridge. Seeing the incredible creations here has me thinking it really ought to happen. Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I'm a lot better at using vector illustration software these days.
I am currently using Inkscape. It's open source freeware. It has the best line curve edit function
out of the others I have used.
Anyway, I am playing around with the idea of upgrading the Cross logo.
Which one do you think looks better?

B reads a little clearer to me, though just subjectively I do like them both about as much.
