That's really solid. I'd still like a little bit more length on the 's' tail.

Yeah, haha. Not much I can do about that, unfortunately. Unless I change my surname.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I think it looks better with the thinner outline & without the slight drop shadow. I'd possibly prefer it even more if it was just solid black & a little more thinned out.
The outline feels like a nod towards the Fenders logo, which seems to be a common thing with folk when they're designing their own.

Thanks,
I get the Fender thing. Especially with the 'R'
Figured since I wasn't using Brush Script like heaps of other people, mine would still look unique enough.
At this stage I am still playing with it, with no real plans of changing the original logo.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
How about kind of combining the drop shadow & outline, like this...
The outline is burned through so you've still just got the single colour.
(...and it's still very much your original logo).

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
It’s a nice logo either way.
One thing that sticks out to me (on all versions) is the straight section and sharp angle at the top of the C. It’s the only straight section in the whole word, and might benefit from softening up a bit?
All personal opinion, of course!

What about these extra tweaks?
The "hook" on the C now mimics the curve of the "r" and the top lip of the "s".
Also, tail on the "s" is ever so slightly elongated and enlarged.
